Kia ora -welcome to Waikite Valley School
We are a decile 10 country school situated in a picturesque valley 26km South-East of Rotorua.
The English translation of the Maori word ‘Waikite’ means ‘water experience’. We are fortunate to be surrounded by several beautiful lakes, thermal waters and hot springs and the famous Waikite Valley Hot Pools. The Paeroa Ranges dominant the landscape and are a breathtaking sight on a clear day.
The strong rural community is made up of dairy and sheep farmers and lifestyle blocks. It is very supportive with an excellent parent and community base.
At the heart of Waikite Valley is our school – come and see us!

- The ethnic make up of the school is approximately 25% Maori and 75% Pakeha/European.
The school is the centre of the community and enjoys the strength it brings to the area. We have an onsite playcentre and enjoy a long and positive relationship with the centre.
